CEO Greeting

MICRO MEDICAL
MAGNETIC ROBOT SYSTEM
InterMag Inc.

Ten years ago, the da Vinci surgical robot system was relatively unknown. However, due to its technological excellence in performing minimally invasive surgeries, it has become widely adopted, with over 5 million cumulative surgeries performed by 2017. Intuitive Surgical, the company that pioneered this market, now dominates 80% of it, becoming the ‘market leader’.

Despite this, occlusive vascular diseases, which account for 44% of major causes of death and are expected to see increasing incidence due to aging populations, still rely on traditional surgical methods. Both patients and medical staff continue to endure the associated pain and risks. The market for medical devices treating vascular diseases was worth $19.5 billion in 2019. Considering the current limitations, market potential, and growth prospects, it is anticipated that someone will eventually overcome these challenges.

Moreover, for magnetically driven capsule endoscopes, significant reductions in precise operation and procedure time suggest a potential paradigm shift to full gastrointestinal endoscopy in the endoscope market, which was worth $29.9 billion in 2020. Currently, however, there is no clear market leader in the magnetic drive system for capsule endoscopes.

Magnetically driven medical robot systems are emerging as alternatives for existing vascular disease treatments and capsule endoscopy procedures due to their technological superiority. InterMag Inc. possesses unique core technologies, a world-class patent portfolio, and top-tier publications in prestigious international journals, built over 16 years of preliminary research before founding our laboratory.

InterMag Inc. aims to surpass the paradigm created by the da Vinci surgical robot system by developing and commercializing magnetically driven medical robot systems (RAMAN, Robotically Assisted MAgnetic Navigation SYSTEM) for vascular intervention (I-RAMAN) and capsule endoscopy (C-RAMAN). We are committed to evolving into a cutting-edge company in the bio-medical device field.

Thank you.
